KANE Fullalove laid down the law after his Shaw team blew a winning position against Wythenshawe in the SWB Commercials Saddleworth and District Cricket League.

The young skipper then got the response he was seeking with victory over Uppermill — and now he is demanding a repeat when Austerlands visit Holebottom Clough on Sunday.

Fullalove did his bit in the reduced-overs win — Shaw’s first of the season — with a sprightly 61.

He said: “It was a good effort and also nice to get some runs. At 100 for three, chasing 144, we should have beaten Wythenshawe the week before, so I was glad we put that one to bed.

“I certainly wasn’t happy after that game. Everyone has to take responsibility and not leave it to the next man just because we have quite a long batting order. But it was good feeling to beat Uppermill and hopefully we can build on that against Austerlands.”

The stand-out fixture of the weekend sees leaders Saddleworth host second-placed Moorside tomorrow.

Neither team have tasted defeat so far this term, but with 19 points separating the top two, the onus is on Danny Anchor’s visitors to prevent the gap from widening.

SHAW and holders Crompton duel for the Shaw Parish Council Trophy at Holebottom Clough tonight.

The Twenty20 match gets under way at 6pm. Admission is free.
