Salford’s SOS call for Ford
Date published: 01 May 2015
Salford Red Devils have recalled Jon Ford from his loan spell at Oldham with immediate effect.
The free-scoring Ford, a 21-year-old centre or wing, was at Whitebank on a three-month loan that doesn't expire until June 19.
Oldham boss Scott Naylor revealed after training last night that Ford won’t be available for Sunday's League One clash with Gloucester All Golds. Salford are at Hull FC tonight, but Ford is not included in the squad.
Said Naylor: "I don't know exactly what's happening, but I do know we can't play him on Sunday."
Ford scored four tries in Oldham's 48-6 win against London Skolars last week to take his total in four league games this season to seven, more than any other player in League One.
Adding to Oldham's three-quarter line concerns, George Tyson is doubtful with a knee injury picked up in training, and Adam Clay won't be included because his partner is due to give birth.
Jarrod Ward has recovered from a pulled hamstring which kept him out of the London game.
And the services of Huddersfield's promising young forward Josh Johnson will be made available to Naylor on dual registration.
