ATHLETIC were held to a second goalless draw in the space of four days by Northampton.
In a tight, defensive game, Athletic's best chance saw Lee Erwin's effort hacked off the line in the first half after good work by debutant Charles Dunne and Lee Croft.
Connor Ripley had earlier been called into action to save from a Matthew Taylor free-kick, the rebound falling for Alex Revell who could only blast over.
The second half was a dour affair as Athletic pressed forward but were unable to break down a packed defence from a visiting side now unbeaten in 27 outings.
Calaum Jahraldo-Martin fired a foot over from the edge of the box in added time, but a goal would not come.
