Police are trying to identify this man and have posted his picture on the London Tube after finding tickets from London in his pockets
POLICE trying to identify a body found near Dovestone reservoir have released CCTV images of the man at a London Tube station.
Officers found three rail tickets in the man’s pockets, which enabled them to trace CCTV footage of him at Ealing station. Police hope this will lead to his identification so his family can be informed.
The body, which had no apparent injuries, was found on the Chew track leading from Dovestone Reservoir to Indians Head on Saturday. Police don’t currently believe the death was suspicious.
Det-Sgt John Coleman said: “The area is extremely remote and used by walkers, engineers and rangers.
“He was last seen at around 4.30pm on December 11 on the track.
Police have had a number of calls but most identifications have been ruled out.
“We don’t know if the man is local or visiting the area,” said Det-Sgt Coleman. “I appeal to owners of hotels or guest houses to call us if they believe personal belongings have been left behind.”
The man is white, of slim build, had a receding hairline and grey hair at the back and sides of his head. He had a large nose which may have been previously broken and was clean shaven. He wore a brown heavy jacket, blue jumper, white long-sleeve shirt, blue corduroy trousers and black slip on shoes.
