Customers baffled by bike shop closure

CONFUSED customers are in the dark the closure of a popular Oldham cycle shop that has traded for over 30 years.
The doors are closed and the shutters down at Surosa Cycles in Huddersfield Road. Customers haven’t been able to discover if the store has closed for good.
Suspicion grew when the company’s website was fund to have been deleted. Customers with gift cards to spend — some as much as £100 in credit — are thought to have been contacted by the company which has apparently offered replacement vouchers for a different cycling retailer. Thishas not yet been confirmed.
The company’s owners haven’t been available for comment. The store is owned and run by former world champion cyclist Mandy Jones and her husband Nigel Bishop.
The Littleborough couple bought the business over eight years ago. Only last summer the shop reported a big increase in trade after the Yorkshire stages of the Tour de France.
