TV talent show duo to star at switch-on

BARS AND MELODY - lights switch on
TV talent show stars and cartoon favourites will light up Oldham town centre on Sunday.
The Christmas lights will be turned on by “Britain’s Got Talent” duo Bars and Melody — Charlie Lenehan and Leondre Devries — and Ben Elf and Princess Holly, stars of “Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom”.
Teenage singer songwriter and Hulme Grammar School pupil Naomi Higginson, also known as Caleidra, will also perform.
The stage show, which will end in a spectacular fireworks display, will take place in a new venue next to the Tommyfield Market.
The fun will starts at noon with a Christmas market and fair on High Street. Ben Elf and Princess Holly will be making special appearances at the Christmas market before heading to the stage for the big show.
The stage show starts at 4.45pm and the fireworks finale wil begin at 5.30pm. After the switch-on, the Christmas lights will be on every day from 2pm.
