Almost 80 people have already been arrested in a month-long crackdown on violent crime in Oldham.
Operation Titanite was launched on September 1 and a dedicated team of officers has arrested 78 people for offences ranging from rape and robbery to burglary and assault.
Sgt Trevor Harrison of the Oldham Central neighbourhood policing team, said: “The results are a good start - but that’s exactly what it is: a start.”
Officers have checked on known offenders, licensed premises and also on former victims of domestic abuse to confirm they remain safe.
