OLDHAM currently houses 539 asylum seekers - and Greater Manchester handles one in six of all asylum seekers in Britain.
Home Office data shows more than 4,000 asylum seekers are currently housed across Greater Manchester. Manchester (779), Bolton (755) and Rochdale (615) are among the 10 towns and cities in Britain with the most asylum seekers.
