WEDDING day dream comes true for Charlie and Louise
A BRIDEGROOM with terminal cancer put his illness behind him to enjoy the greatest day of his life — his wedding day.
Charlie Jones (24) and his new wife, Louise, were yesterday surrounded by their closest family and friends.
The newlywed Holts man made national news in March when he became the first skin cancer sufferer to test a new drug designed to improve the life of those with the disease.
Though the treatment won’t cure Charlie’s cancer, it does improve his quality of life.
Last night Charlie was ecstatic about his special day.
He said: “It’s been an absolutely brilliant day. It was lovely to have all our family and friends around us. I cried when Louise walked down the aisle because she looked stunning. There were a few tears from family and friends too.
“We’ve put my illness behind us today, it’s not even entered our heads and it won’t tonight when we carry on celebrating.”
Charlie added: “Everything seems to be going okay at the moment. I’m still taking my tablets and I’ve got to wait to see a doctor, but I feel quite well.”
