Drug man jailed for 32 months

Two brothers have been sentenced after cash and drugs were found in their houses, one of them in Chadderton.
Jayantila Patel (53), of Broadoak Road, Ashton, admitted possessing cannabis, possessing it with intent to supply, and concealment of money. He was was jailed for 32 months at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court.
Dipak Patel (49), also of Broadoak Road, admitted allowing his premises to be used in the supply of cannabis, was given a 10 months jail sentence suspended for 12 months
Police found cannabis plants and a large amount of cash when they searched the house on Broadoak Road,
The brothers also owned a house on Faulkenhurst Street, Chadderton, where more cash was found.
The total amount of cash seized from both houses was more than £260,000. The cannabis had a significant street value.
Det Sgt Julie Maxwell said: “This was a very significant recovery which we believe stopped the supply of a large amount of drugs that blight our communities.
“Seizures and convictions like this are down to the hard work of police officers, but we are also grateful for the diligence of the community.
“If anyone has suspicions of drug dealing in their area, they need to contact us.”
