WELL-wishers from around Greater Manchester 'love-bombed' a mosque in Oldham that was targeted by an arsonist.
A group of people set off from Manchester Piccadilly Gardens and made their way to Jamia Qasmia Zahida Islamic Centre, in Villa Road, to show solidarity after someone lit materials into the mosque's letterbox at around 2am last Tuesday (23).
Imam Mohammad Siddiq told the Chronicle they were considering it to be a reprisal incident in response to Monday's terrorist attack at Manchester Arena.
Morgan Jones (20), a student from Rochdale, organised the event after seeing the news online.
The group brought with them heart-shaped post-it notes and wrote messages of love which were then stuck on the mosque walls.
Morgan said: "We wanted to show support and love with the Islamic community.
"We understand they need more love and we need to battle Islamophobia."
