POLICE are investigating after four cars on a garage forecourt caught fire on Saturday night.
A black Renault Clio, a blue Peugeot 206 and a blue Vauxhall Astra van were destroyed following the fire at 10.25pm, with a white BMW car suffering heat damage.
The vehicles were parked on an open forecourt of MM Motor Repair Centre in Milne Street, Higginshaw.
The van was owned by the garage and the owners of the other three vehicles have been informed.
Oldham fire fighters were called to the scene on Saturday night and spent an hour tackling the blaze before police were called to attend.
Crew manger John McIlquham said: "This garage was one of a number of garages on that road but luckily there was enough of a gap so the fire hadn't affected these.
"It was difficult to identify the cause of the blaze so police will be investigating. There were CCTV cameras on a couple of the garages."
