More good news on sponsors

Date published: 05 October 2020

Oldham RLFC has reported more good news on sponsorship - a crucial part of the business at any time, but especially so right now in these times of unprecedented financial hardship.

Following the lead set by main sponsors, CDX Security, who have not only committed again for 2021 but have told the club they won't be seeking a refund for the 'lost' 2020 season, other companies have followed suit, including the Property Buying Company and Purpose Business and Marketing.

One of the UK's leading companies in its field, Property Buying Company is owned and managed by property professionals with more than 50 years of combined experience in England and Wales.

David Slater, chief operating officer, said: "We are very happy to continue our sponsorship of Oldham RLFC. In the current state of the world it's good for businesses to stick together in their support of clubs which are a massive part of their local communities.

"We hope to see Oldham continuing to progress, moving forward on the field and growing the business.

"We are proud to support the club."

The managing director of Purpose Business and Marketing, Julie Collins, needs no introduction to Oldham fans.

She's not only a supporter herself, but she serves on the volunteer management team that beavers away in the background to assist the club's owner, chairman and chief executive Chris Hamilton.

Purpose Marketing - slogan, 'Your purpose is our passion' - is a marketing agency offering the skills, expertise and technology to grow, develop and market a client's business.

In this case the sponsorship is offered on two levels - 1, financial and 2, practical, in terms of marketing support, programme production and assistance in other directions.

Said Julie: "It's been a difficult year for everybody and a challenge for all businesses but there was never any question of us asking for a 2020 refund.

"I'm excited about the squad that's being built and the direction in which the club is moving.

"Chris deserves a massive compliment for keeping the club going and both he and Matt should be applauded for the squad they're building.

"We are not a large business, but I love rugby league and I love the Oldham club and Purpose Business and Marketing is proud and happy to continue our support.

"Whatever the company does for the club it doesn't cost the club a penny."

Said chairman Mr Hamilton: "The club is extremely grateful to both companies, whose great support makes a real difference, especially during this current Covid crisis.

"We really appreciate the support of sponsors and season-ticket holders in these times of unprecedented hardship."
