Latics determined to halt the run of defeats

Latics caretaker boss Pete Wild has been telling the Oldham Chronicle his players are ready to turn the bad run of results around.

Oldham head in to this weekend's League 2 game with Morecambe on a run that see's Athletic without a win in 5 games.

You have to go back to New Year's Day and the 2-0 win over Notts County for the last time Athletic took all 3 points from a match.

Despite the poor run, Wild though believes the results aren't a reflection on how his side are playing.

He said: "The mood (amongst the team) is one of frustration. In all the games we've lost or drawn we've been in it and we should have least taken a point out of all those games. So the mood is one of frustration, desperate to put it right and hopefully, fingers crossed you're going to see a team that's going to put things right".

The players have a clean bill of health with everyone training this week, so the management team should have a full squad to pick from.

Opponents Morecame aren't having the best season. The Lancashire club is hovering just two points above the relegation zone in 22nd ahead of this weekend's match and despite not winning since before Christmas the Oldham boss won't be taking them lightly.

Wild said : "We've done our analysis on Morecambe. They're going to work as hard as they can, they're going to be tough to play against, they're going to make it intense, they're going to make it hard work for us. So all our preparations have been around making sure, one we match their intensity, and two when they are intense not making it a fight, because we're better than that."
