Place2Be launches school resources for Children’s Mental Health Week 2021

Date published: 11 January 2021

Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health week will return in 2021, taking place between February 1-7.

The theme for the week is Express Yourself, and Place2Be will be encouraging children (and adults) to explore the different ways they can express themselves, and the creative ways that they can share feelings, thoughts and ideas.

This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

Free primary and secondary resources are now available at: childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk, including assembly guides, slides, group activities, fundraising ideas and more to help schools and youth groups explore the theme.

All of the ideas in the resources packs can be adapted for use in school, for home-schooling, online lessons or independent learning.

Place2Be’s ‘Dress to Express’ Fundraising kit is also now available, encouraging schools, organisations and individuals to use colour to express themselves during Children’s Mental Health Week by wearing a colourful outfit and donating £2 to Place2Be.

Place2Be launched Children's Mental Health Week in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people's mental health.

Now in its seventh year, the charity hopes that more schools, families and organisations will get involved than ever before.

Place2Be is a children's mental health charity providing school-based support and in-depth training programmes to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.
