Hundreds flock to Shaw and Crompton Council Family Fun Day

Hundreds of people took advantage of the warm weather to head down to Market Street in Shaw on Saturday and Sunday as the Shaw and Crompton Council Family Fun Day got into full swing.

A blast from a canon started the event at 11am with Elliot, from Elliot at Breakfast on Revolution 96.2 hosting the event on Saturday.

Along with all the stalls on offer, crowds also enjoyed Alice in Wonderland panto and a circus skills workshop.

Street theatres brought with them comedy characters for everyone to enjoy and there was even a soft play area for the kids.

It was fun for all the family with rides, inflatables and even a helter skelter.

The fun then continued onto the Sunday with hundreds of a classic cars arriving on the scene to take part in a rally.

It gave owners the chance to show off their pride and joys with hundreds of people being given the chance to have a look at pieces of automotive history right there in Shaw.

To top it all off the weather held for both days of the weekend just adding to the fun, enjoyment and excitement of those who attended.
