Power puncher supreme Mark Heffron is determined to do Oldham proud tomorrow night in front of his army of fans at the Manchester Arena.

Unbeaten ace Heffron (27) provides chief support to the Josh Warrington-Carl Frampton world title set-to as he takes on Liam Williams for the British Middleweight crown.

Heffron is super-confident of extending his run to 22 straight wins tomorrow in what has been billed as a grudge match in some quarters as Williams defeated Mark’s brother Ronnie Heffron back in 2014.

Mark Heffron is only focused on securing victory tomorrow, however, and isn’t concerned about anything Williams may have done or said in the build-up to their fight.

“It’s about staying relaxed for me now,” said Heffron.

“It’s going to be a good fight for as long as it lasts.

“It’s been a long, hard camp.

“I’ve done everything right, listened to everything (trainer Rimmer) Robert’s told me to do, so I’m ready.

“I definitely can’t see it going the distance – I’m going to knock him out, 100-per-cent.

“I’m not normally one for talking rubbish, I like to do my talking in the ring, but Liam’s been talking c**p so I can’t wait for Saturday now.

“I’m buzzing. It's a massive fight isn't it?

“It's for the British title so it's easily my biggest fight so far.

"It's a fight everyone is looking forward to and I can't wait."

Welshman Williams (26) appears equally confident, and is ready for fireworks as Heffron will be going for an 18th early stoppage.

Asked about Heffron’s credentials, Williams said: "I don't dispute he can punch, but I think he's knocking over c**p opponents.

“I'll be the judge of that on Saturday.

“I don't think he's the killer that people are making him out to be."

Failsworth’s Danny Wright, meanwhile, is not now featuring on Saturday’s Arena bill.

He will be back in the ring in the New Year, and a huge 2019 undoubtedly beckons for the unbeaten former amateur star.
