Low key end to the racing season for Beech

It proved to be a low-key finale to the National Superstock 1000 Championship series at Brands Hatch for Moorside speedster Ashley Beech.

For Beech the 11th round of the 2018 competition was work in progress as he still gets to grips with his new Suzuki GSX-R1000 race bike.

Weather conditions were cloudy and dry, although the strong gusty winds were impacting fast lap times.

In qualifying, the team had changed the front and rear suspension to a softer setting to prevent the bike running wide coming out of corners.

The changes improved the handling and Beech finished 22nd quickest and would start the race from row 7 on the grid.

Heavy drizzle, a damp track and very dark conditions greeted the competitors on race day and Beech fought hard for 14 laps and crossed the line in 22nd position.

"Visibility was bad and the track was so slippery that I had a few scary moments and decided to bring the bike home safely," said Beech.
