HPP gear up to stage manufacturing roadshow

Date published: 04 March 2020

Furniture components manufacturer and distributor Hills Panel Products (HPP) is hosting an open-day and regional roadshow with a partner manufacturer at its Oldham HQ later this month.

Fitted furniture installers, showrooms, building specifiers, interior designers, architects and other furniture and property professionals can sign-up for guided tours of HPP’s manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facilities at Scottfield Road.

The site has seen major expansion and investment in recent years, as HPP has grown its work across the UK.

The day will include a mobile roadshow exhibition from Egger, an international worktops and wood-based products manufacturer which recently agreed an important new distribution deal with HPP.

Egger will show visitors its new Egger Decorative Collection for 2020-22.

This features 250 decorative surfaces in highly advanced wood, stone and ceramic finishes suitable for all interior spaces including kitchens, bedrooms and commercial property.

It represents Egger’s biggest product launch since 2017 and is a major event for the UK fitted furniture industry.

HPP recently launched a new distribution deal with Egger and has been named an Egger Diamond Distributor.

HPP is the only distributor to offer its trade customers a unique service in processing full panel sheets from the entire Egger Decorative Collection into made-to-measure doors or cut-to-specification orders.

HPP has also upgraded its trade customer ordering system for cut-to-specification services.

This achieves cost-effective, optimal use of panel materials and enables trade account holders to place orders and get quotes on a real-time basis, day or night.

From its base in Oldham, and second distribution centre in Sheffield, HPP serves the national kitchen and bedroom fitting industry, manufacturing its own products and additionally distributing others from major international brands.

The company has over 2,000 UK trade customers and employs over 200 staff.

The Scottfield Road site has grown significantly in recent years including the opening of a second vinyl-wrapped door production line and additional warehouse capacity.

During the forthcoming March 16 event, HPP will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the latest processes and services. For example, guests can see how the company manufactures its custom-made doors.

Elsewhere, they can see HPP’s fully automated woodstore or see how it keeps vast range of furniture fittings in stock using advanced warehousing, ordering and picking systems.

Furniture trade representatives will make up the majority of visitors for the March 16 open day and roadshow.

Admission is free but visitors are required to book in advance via its website at www.hpponline.co.uk/egger-tour

Dan Mounsey, marketing manager at HPP, said: “We are really looking forward to the event on Match 16.

"Our distribution deal with Egger is an important part of our business and Egger’s mobile showroom is an excellent, purpose-designed presentation space.

"Visitors can really see and feel the brilliant new décors in Egger’s new Decorative Collection.

"There will be plenty of space for presentations and also break-out areas for informal chats.”
