A proud night for HPP at regional awards bash

Furniture industry doors, boards and fittings supplier Hill’s Panel Products (HPP) enjoyed the limelight as a finalist at a regional business awards ceremony.

HPP was a finalist at the 2018 MEN Business of the Year Awards in the Business of the Year (turnover £25-£50million) category sponsored by law firm Hill Dickinson.

Judges heard how the Oldham company has enjoyed an impressive year of growth across sales, manufacturing, distribution, employment, investment and international trade.

The awards ceremony was held at Manchester’s Principal Hotel with more than 350 guests from across the region.

Among the HPP representatives at the event were HPP founder Malcolm Hill, purchasing director Alan Bolton, finance director Richard Mottram, managing director Keith Wardrope and owner-director Martin Hill, who is Malcolm’s son and now heads the business alongside his brother, Stephen Hill.

Marketing manager Dan Mounsey said: “Although we weren’t the ultimate winners, we are still incredibly proud of everyone involved at HPP in getting us to the finals of the Business of the Year Awards.

"We were proud to represent both manufacturing and Oldham at the awards, which are among the most prestigious regional business awards in the UK.”

Despite Brexit uncertainty, HPP’s award entry highlighted how the business is going from strength-to-strength with a £2million investment programme, enhanced speed, efficiency and accuracy, state-of-the-art machinery, and expanded carrier services across the entire UK.

The company also paid tribute to the quality of its staff, praising them for being instrumental in the success.

HPP has invested heavily in staff training along with customer support and online ordering, to create a ‘one-stop-shop’ for trade customers who include kitchen and bedroom installers, retail showrooms, property developers and professionals, such as architects and interior specifiers.

HPP manufactures its own products in Oldham including Avanti doors, Glide sliding doors, and Aspect and Aspire kitchens and bedrooms.

It also supplies products by leading European brands such as Egger, Kronospan and XyloCleaf to customers across the UK and Ireland.

Earlier this year, HPP was a finalist in the Insider business magazine’s Made In The North West Awards for the Manufacturer of the Year (turnover over £25m) category.
