Man charged following incident which saw another injured in Failsworth

A charge has been secured in connection with an incident which saw a man injured on Oldham Road in Failsworth on Sunday evening (March 17).

Mohammed Hamid Hussain (aged 30), of Hereford Street in Oldham, has been charged with assault, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and driving while disqualified.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court today (Wednesday).

The injured man, aged 42, remains in hospital in a serious, life-threatening condition.

Officers are still asking for anyone who may have seen anything from around the time of the incident to please come forward.

Detective Sergeant Kate Dawson, from GMP’s Oldham district, said: “Officers are still working hard on the investigation from the weekend and while we have secured a charge, we are asking for anyone with any information to get in touch.

“If you have any information related to this incident, please do let us know.

"This includes any relevant CCTV, doorbell, dashcam, or mobile phone footage."
