Ryder and Dutton ensures exciting school trip goes ahead for everyone

Estate agent Ryder and Dutton has donated £250 to St Hugh’s C of E Primary School in Oldham to enable a pupil to attend a residential school trip to Robinwood Activity Centre in Todmorden.

A group of Year 6 children from the school went on the trip, but not all families could afford to cover the price, so Ryder and Dutton jumped in to cover the cost for one student to ensure no one missed out.

The two-night trip saw pupils taking part in 15 exciting activities, including climbing, caving and canoeing, all designed to improve teamwork skills and build resilience.

Speaking about the donation, Claire Byrne, business manager at St Hugh’s, said: “We do everything we can to provide amazing experiences for our children, but some trips are unaffordable for some families.

“The Robinwood residential is something all our children really look forward to, and we would hate for any of them to miss out on such a brilliant experience, so we were delighted when Ryder and Dutton offered to cover the cost of the trip for one pupil.

"It meant everyone could attend and the trip was a fantastic success and one that all the children will remember.”

Tony Boardman, manager of Ryder and Dutton’s Oldham Branch, added: “When the school got in touch to ask if we could donate the money to cover the cost for a pupil to go on this trip, it was an immediate yes from us.

"We’re always happy to help support good causes in the area we operate in, and it’s great to know that our donation has allowed a local child to take part in a brilliant memory-making experience that they’ll never forget.”

Ryder and Dutton was established in 1919, and acquired Mortimers Estate Agents in 2017.

It was acquired by Northern Estate Agencies Group in 2021, which also owns Manning Stainton, creating one of the largest independently owned estate agency groups in the North of England, with a 36-branch network covering Manchester, Leeds and other hotspots across West Yorkshire, East Lancashire and Derbyshire.

The Group employs over 450 people.
