A former Oldham police officer who left the force to take up wedding photography as a new career has won a hugely prestigious industry award for his superb work.
James Tracey was a police sergeant in Oldham between 2003 and and 2013, before leaving that role to pursue wedding photography.
He started filming weddings in 2018.
Now, James' business - James Tracey Films - which is based in Grains Bar, has won the Wedding Videographer of The Year gong in the North West category of the 2023 Wedding Industry Awards.
Proud and delighted James said: "This award isn’t won by having the most votes, it’s from a judging panel of some of the world's best wedding film makers alongside client votes, and feedback on my business and service.
"It’s widely acknowledged that this is the hardest award to win, and the video category was particularly difficult this year with a former regional winner and one of last year's highly commended both entering again.
"I’m now in the running for National Wedding Videographer of the year, which will be announced at a gala event in London on January 25 next year."
