It was shortly after 2.50pm when officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Burnley Lane in Chadderton involving a dispute between a group of youths.

A short time later a video emerged on social media believed to be of the incident and showing one boy pulling a meat cleaver out of his tracksuit before he tried to attack one of the boys with it.

A 15-year old boy sustained cuts to his leg which required hospital treatment.

Officers have now said they’ve arrested two 15-year old boys on suspicion of affray, attempted assault and possession of a bladed article.

They’ve also confirmed they are aware of the video and are asking anyone with information about what happened to call police on 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
