Chesham Road, Oldham
It was at around 8pm when officers were made aware of a disturbance on Chesham Road and that a woman had been hit by a car.
The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene.
The victim, whose age hasn’t been released, was knocked to the ground and left lying in the road although her injuries aren’t thought to be serious.
A description of the driver involved was issued and within minutes a man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, was arrested on Glodwick Road.
It’s understood prior to him being detained he was aggressive towards police, he remains in custody for questioning.
In a post on social media PC Mohammad Ali, neighbourhood beat officer for the Glodwick, St Mary's and Roundthorn area said: "Attend reports of disturbance in Oldham. Male uses a vehicle to run over a female, then drives dangerously and hits another innocent driver, later detained by police where he resists violently, he is then arrested for an affray and s.18 assault - the female is OK!"
