The date and line-up for #OldhamLIVE 2018 – a spectacular free family entertainment and music festival in Oldham town centre – are revealed today.

Oldham Council and Revolution 96.2 are teaming up to put on a day packed with family fun and offering something for all ages and tastes on Saturday, August 25.

Live music gets underway from around 6pm with a dazzling line-up headlined by Dodgy.

Also on the bill are one-time Brit Award nominees Sweet Female Attitude, whose massive number two chart hit Flowers in 2000 is considered a classic old school garage anthem.

There will also be a set from Ella Shaw, the Britain’s Got Talent 2015 semi-finalist who is now a successful singer songwriter with a mighty voice – plus a DJ set sure to excite from Revolution 96.2’s Dave Sweetmore, with Madchester anthems and Indie classics aplenty.

Before all that #OldhamLIVE focusses on free family fun from noon onwards.

Sid Sloane, CBeebies’ longest-serving presenter, is headlining the stageshow with an interactive Sid’s Gameshow that will be loved by all.

There’s also Russ Brown’s amazing puppet show, plus madcap antics and magic from Andy B.

Sean Fielding, Oldham Council Leader, said: “Parliament Square is THE place to be on Saturday, August 25 with #OldhamLIVE offering a brilliant day of free family fun.

“This line-up has something for everyone and it’s exactly the kind of event we had in mind when we built this new public square – other towns do this, so why shouldn’t Oldham’s residents have this too?

“We’ve got some great best-selling music acts to enjoy in the evening covering all tastes – and the daytime is going to be a great interactive family event not to be missed.

“We’ve done #ourbit by putting this line-up together and now we need you to help us spread the word by telling your family and friends, and coming along to support it.

“This will be an outstanding free day out for everyone and should also give another boost to businesses in the area who we’re encouraging to put on special offers for the day using the #OldhamLIVE hashtag.”
