HOLLINWOOD slumped to the bottom of Division One in the Manchester League following a thoroughly disappointing defeat at the hands of fellow strugglers Westbury.
On paper this was a game Hollinwood wa expected to win, against a Westbury side who had won only once all season. But Hollinwood - second from bottom before kick-off - was always going to be up against it from the start.
A large exodus of players in recent weeks has seen Hollinwood struggling to raise a team.
Add to that the misfortune of losing two players - David McNally and Bobby Finch - through injury inside the first 30 minutes and the picture for Hollinwood is clear.
Sixty three-year-old manager Liam Morrissey named himself as the only substitute and his entrance on to the field of play at Chapel Road, albeit late on in the game, was little more than a token gesture.
The one bright spot for Hollinwood was the two goals scored by Michael Hoggard, on a miserable afternoon for the club.
